Everything we eat affects our mentality and mood according to Ayurveda. Do you eat "happy" easily digestible and energy-filled food - or do you eat devitalized lifeless food?

Read here how to raise your energy frequency with high prana food.

Prana translates to energy, life force or universal energy. It is found in all living things - in nature, in the air, in our bodies and in the food we eat.

Food is much more than just nourishment for the physical body. Vitamins, minerals, and basic nutrients are important for maintaining cells and tissues. But as we begin to look deeper into energy and the subtle, esoteric layers of our existence, we must also consider the energy frequency that food contains, as well as the importance of eating foods that we can easily digest.

With a sattvic lifestyle , you eat a fresh, plant-based diet with a high energy frequency and avoid caffeine, refined sugar, chocolate and alcohol, which for many can lead to an “overheating” of the mind. Sattvic food supports a stable, focused and positive mind.

On the other hand, food that does not harmonize with our digestive system can drain us of energy and make us uninspired, discouraged and tired.

The three Gunas

Everything - including food - is divided into the three Gunas in Ayurveda, which are three qualities (tendencies).

Sattva: light, pure, bright, blissful

Rajas: energetic, dynamic, active, warm, intense.

Tamas: heavy, solid, foundation, stagnant, matter, solid.

High Prana - Sattvic food that boosts energy

Sattvic food is of the highest quality and should be organic, light, juicy, preferably slightly sweet, nutritious, flavorful and full of prana - life energy. It is best prepared with a good dose of love.

All living things have an energy frequency, and the fresher and more alive your food is, the more energy you are giving your body. When you cook fresh vegetables, they retain an energy oscillation for 2-3 hours after cooking. After that, it decreases. With an Ängström meter, you can actually measure the energy frequencies in foods.

To preserve as much prana as possible in food, it should be cooked gently - for example by lightly steaming or briefly frying. Avoid cooking stews for too long; the vegetables should only be just tender.

All seven dhatus - connective tissue, blood/plasma, bones, muscles, bone marrow, blood, etc. - are nourished and strengthened when we eat a prana-rich diet. The energy can then flow freely through the body: from the root chakra, up through the entire system and into the heart, where it unfolds as a feeling of expansion, joy of life and unconditional, spontaneous love.

On the other hand , food that does not suit our digestive system or our dosha can drain us of energy and make us uninspired, discouraged and tired.

Sattvic food

The Sattvic diet consists of fresh, organic vegetables and light, nutritious dishes that are gentle on the body and mind.

Vegetables: Sweet and light vegetables like sweet potatoes, carrots, fresh salads, steamed green leaves, cucumber, cooked beets, fennel, and asparagus.

Classic dishes: Kitchari is a classic sattvic dish that suits all doshas.

Hot dishes: Creamy soups and stews, only lightly spiced, served with a little rice or other mild side dishes. Dal and mild vegetable curries are also suitable.

Fruit: Juicy, sweet and ripe fruits such as oranges, sweet apples, grapes, pears, plums, apricots, blueberries, blackberries, dates and figs (preferably soaked). Fruit salads and mango lassi (possibly made with plant milk) are uplifting and nutritious.

Mood boosters: Pineapple, berries, nuts and seeds contain serotonin - a neurotransmitter/happiness hormone that can help stabilize and lift your mood.

Drinks and side dishes: All types of plant milk - e.g. almond, cashew, coconut and oat milk - are sattvic and easy to digest.

Spices: A little warming spices like cardamom and cinnamon can be used.

However, avoid all forms of onions, chilies and other strong spices, as they can disturb the peace of mind and create imbalance.
